Stages of the Professor of Practice Program

Practice Professor Capability Diagnostic Assessment

This stage utilises a proprietary professorial capability diagnostic developed by the College which is applied at the commencement of the Practice Professor program. The diagnostic is followed by a review of the results and the development of a personal development plan.

2

Practice Professor Study Program

In the formal study component of the program, candidates complete a set of professor capability development self-paced study modules (which are assigned as part of the personal development plan completed after the capability diagnostic in the previous stage), followed by five online taught advanced modules, which hone your practice professor skills. An online intensive residential option is available for the advanced modules.

3

Formal Mentoring

Following completion of the coursework component of the program, a mentor is assigned to assist you with the selection of an investigation topic and to prepare a project report. Many candidates ultimately developed their report into a professional conference presentation or publish it as an artilce.

4

Practice Professor Presentation

The project report is presented to the Presentation Panel by the candidate in a question-and-answer session.  The panel discusses the paper with the candidate and then determines whether the candidate has met the program report and presentation standards.
